The Dulci-Glo Saga

edited by Dave Clifford

Regular readers of the Nonsuch Newsletter will be well aware of the ongoing rivalry between two companies, namely Mattwood Dulcimers, a long established trustworthy company of note, and bah!....Dulciglo, a company who seem hell-bent on flooding the market with inferior, indeed sometimes unsafe products for the dulcimer fraternity. In recent months a futile attempt was made by bah!...Dulciglo to take over the Mattwood empire. It was touch and go for a while, but largely due to the loyalty of its customer base, Mattwood successfully fought off the takeover, and now with new models and products on offer the tables are turned and Mattwood are about to promote a hostile takeover of Dulciglo.

For new club members, or for the benefit of any passing dulcimer enthusiasts, the long sad tale is repeated here.

It all began back in 1997 with the appearance of the following advert in the Nonsuch Newsletter:-
